This year was our second year running the Hook Me contest.

We had a total of 25 entries among 21 entrants.

Each entry went to 3 judges, who judged on 6 different criteria, with a possibility of 60 points. Then we deleted the lowest score and averaged the two remaining scores to get the final points.

Thanks to everyone to participated -- entrants and judges. Even if you didn't win, we hope you got something out of the writing articles sent to each participant, as well as the comments from the judges to help you in refining your entry and HOOK your editor, agent or reader someday!

This year, we divided the competition into categories, based on genre.

We required a minimum of 4 total entries for a category to be judged. Those who entered categories that did not have at least 4 entries were given the option to have their entry fee returned, or move their entry to another category.

We ended up with 4 categories this year, out of a large number of possibilities.
